Jennifer Bill asked me the following on the Mammalingo Facebook Page: “I need a new word to describe being home with my kids, because after a week ‘vacation’ just isn’t cutting it.”
Good question, Jennifer. Instead of answering you with a word. I’d like to show you something. The photos are from artist  Yayoi Kusama’s installation at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. She let children decorate a white space with stickers. It’s called, “The Obliteration Room.” (Found this one of my favorite blogs, thedailywhat.)
What does the “sticker room” have to do with a week or two home with one’s children? In my house, we’ve been trading a stomach virus back and forth for two weeks. (The baby had it last. Awesomeness.) And, I feel like the person who needs to clean up this installation when it’s over.
What about you, guys? Any good words for Jennifer?
P.S. If you’re on Facebook and you haven’t liked Mammalingo then you’re not doing your part to help the environment. (How does liking my Mammalingo Facebook page help the environment? Well, it doesn’t hurt it. At least, I don’t think it hurts it. I hope it doesn’t.)
