As you may recall, I partnered with Kerry Sparks and Miek Bruno to celebrate their new book, Hello, My Name is Pabst. We had a contest in search of the coolest kid’s name we could find. Actually, it was the coolest kid’s name that Kerry and Miek could find… because they were the judges. I have too many anxieties to judge things. (What if I chose wrong? I’d have to live with THAT.)
The authors/judges said that the competition was fierce. Fierce! And some of you tried to bribe them. Okay. No one bribed them. But, that would have been awesome, in a terrible, Lifetime-movie kind of way. Maybe there will be a movie based on this contest one day? There could be. It could happen. Adam Sandler, you may recall, bought the movie rights to Candyland. Well, today, on my blog, somebody won something. There were losers and there was a winner. What more does Candyland have going for it? Exactly. Moving on…
Kerry and Miek chose a winner based on a name that was innovative, cool, and had “a lovely ring to it.” And that winner is Beringer Tate! Congrats Beringer Tate! And to his mom, Alicia. You get an advance copy of Hello, My Name is Pabst. And bragging rights. And, I bolded Beringer’s name twice in this post just to make the day extra, extra special.
Thank you to everyone who entered. To those of you who lost, don’t think of it as losing. Think of it only as not being good enough.
